Chou-Yin
Chou-Yin is the main character of A River Merchant’s
Wife. The story follows her journey into adulthood. Chou Yin
is the daughter of a village head; she and Wen Wu are childhood
friends despite their different classes. The story reveals Chou
Yin’s struggle as a woman living in the traditions of ancient
China.
